Great if you want to eat healthy delicious food and want to sip on some wine with friends or family. They have a lot of indoor and outdoor seating, have a wide variety of dishes and have a kids menu as well. It’s a good place to celebrate an event like a birthday or graduation.

Season 52 is a fresh grill and wine bar that uses fresh meat and vegetables in their dishes. They use seasonal fruits and veggies that are never frozen and always sourced with quality in mind. They even have some micro seasonal veggies that are only around for a few weeks per year so every time you come in there is something new to try.

Their wine menu contains 52 different wines that are served by the glass but they also carry bourbon, scotch, hard ciders, beers and non-alcoholic beverages like tea, sodas and ginger ale.

Their entrees include wood grilled dry-rubbed pork chop, wood-grilled boneless rainbow trout, wood-grilled fillet mignon, scallops, salmon, sea bass, lobster tail and even some flatbreads which are some of our personal favorites and something you definitely need to try. As you probably noticed they have an oak-fire grill and brick oven in their kitchen which gives their dishes a unique flavor that is absolutely amazing.

If you are looking for an interactive fondue dinner experience full of craft bread, cheese and wine and chocolate then this place might be perfect for you. Their desert menu alone makes this place worth stopping by after a movie night or a stroll downtown. This is an excellent choice for date night or special occasions. They also have a large enough space for parties.

The Melting Pot is a franchise business but you’d never know it. Their customer service is spot on and the owner and servers are really friendly and accommodating and will guide you through the whole ordering experience. They serve really high quality meat and seafood, artisan fresh bread and some amazing cheeses. They even provide gluten free and vegan options so there is bound to be something here for everyone.

Food: They have a lot of options here. If you are coming here with a date I would highly recommend getting the four course dinner for two. With that you will be able to pick your choice of cheese fondue, salad, entrée and chocolate fondue. Otherwise you can order a la carte.

Starting off from the beginning, you pick a cheese fondue, which comes with artisan bread, seasonal fruits and veggies. Those cheese options include Wisconsin cheddar, classic alpine, spinach artichoke, fiesta cheese, bourbon bacon cheddar and Wisconsin trio. Once you pick one of those you move onto the salads. Those include Melting pot house salad, Caesar, California and a strawberry almond which are all really tasty. The main entrée fondue comes in multiple styles which include a seasoned vegetable broth, a garlic, cilantro, citrus, a tempura batter or a wine, mushroom, scallion, garlic fondue all of which can be made gluten free. For the protein you can either create your own selection of meats or pick a premade assortment like the Steak Lovers or a vegetarian option like The Garden Pot. I personally like The Classic which comes with shrimp, pork, teriyaki-marinated steak, garlic pepper steak and herb crusted chicken breast. The options here are almost overwhelming but you really can’t go wrong, everything we’ve tried so far has been fresh and delicious. The finale is the chocolate fondue, again you can pick from a selection of prepared chocolate which is served with a variety of sweet treats and fresh fruits. There are milk chocolate, dark chocolates, caramel and pecans, peanut butter and milk chocolate options. There is even a S’mores fondue that has milk chocolate with marshmallow crème that is topped with graham crackers which is to die for!

This place has everything you could want out of a breakfast spot. The bacon is thick and perfectly cooked, the waffles, pancakes and biscuits are fluffy and delicious and the portions are plentiful. This place does get busy though, so if you are a party of 4 or less and don’t mind waiting for a table then I would definitely recommend giving this place a shot.

Bacon and Butter is owned by a Sacramento local. He opened the restaurant in 2014 and made it into one of the most popular breakfast joints in Sac.They use locally sourced ingredients as often as possible and provide a large menu that includes gluten free options like salads, omelets and oatmeal.

Food: Some of their most popular dishes include the grilled cheese benedict, breakfast burrito, french toast, biscuit sandwich, kitchen sink, avocado toast, and bacon melt. They do a really good job of making some plates that are unique yet not intimidating or weird. And like I said before they have large potions.

Drinks: They have a wide range of non alcoholic and alcoholic drinks to choose from including beers, mixed drinks and some tasty creations like their ciderosa which as you can probably tell by the name is a mimosa mixed with cider.

Pros:

  • Wide ranging menu with large portions.
  • Unique dishes that are well done.
  • Fluffy pancakes and crispy bacon

Cons:

  • Long wait time during weekends. Best to visit at open during a weekday.
  • Customer service can be so so if they are busy.
  • Parking is not great.
  • Not a good place to bring a large party. I suggest not bringing a party larger than 4-5 people
