This friend-owned brewery has carved out a unique niche by creating a welcoming, dog-friendly atmosphere that caters to both the four-legged and two-legged patrons.

Bike Dog has three different locations around Sacramento and all are very dog friendly!

Nestled in the heart of Sacramento‘s thriving midtown district, Bike Dog Broadway Taproom is the perfect place to get together with your friends and pups if you live in midtown. It has plenty of parking, has a welcoming interior and a cozy outdoor patio. It’s a true gem for beer enthusiasts and dog lovers alike.  If you have the chance, I highly recommend attending one of their popular puzzle swaps—it’s a unique and fun way to engage with the community.

Located in West Sacramento is their Bike Dog Brewery location. I like this location because it’s a bit laid back and also has a winery next door(Baker Family Wines). It’s a perfect place to meet up if some of your friends prefer wine over beer. It usually has some delicious food trucks parked outside as well, if you want to grab a bite. They also have trivia nights on Tuesdays if you’re into that kinda thing. If you’re ever curious about what food trucks or events are happening at their locations I recommend checking their Instagram.

Their newest location is in East Sac down the street from Sacramento State University. This location is definitely my favorite. There is SO MUCH outdoor space with plenty of tables for you and your pup to socialize and enjoy the weather. They have regular food trucks and best of all they have a bunch of different games including ping pong, cornhole and a couple other arcade type basketball games to enjoy. Make sure to check out their website and instagram to see what events and foodtrucks are going to be present before heading over! Here is a link

Located in the Ice Blocks on R street, Device Brewing Company is a great place for you and your four legged friend to stop in for a beer. The location is really convenient as it’s walking distance to the busy R Street area and there is a little Bark Park about 5 minutes walk away (Truitt Bark Park).

Their 14th Ave/Power Inn Rd location is probably a little out of the way for most people but it’s a great place to stop if you are in the area with your pup. The location is small and cozy, they have trivia on Tuesdays and they have great beer. What makes this place great is that it’s really close the Granite Park Dog Park so you can have a little play date with your pup before walking over and grabbing a beer. Also, there is a skate park that’s adjacent to the dog park so you can have some fun there if you know how to skate.

Their third location is in The Pocket

Track Seven Brewing Company has two wonderful locations. One is situated in Curtis Park Near Sac City College and the other is Located in Natomas near hw80 and Northgate Blvd.

The Curtis Park brewery was their first location to open. It’s a great place to hang out after work if you live in midtown. They usually always have a great food truck outside and they do a great job at having some sort of activity or event for you to enjoy. Trivia nights are on Wednesdays, book club every 2nd Tuesday, music bingo nights are on Thursdays and their comedy nights on Fridays and are really fun to watch. It can get a bit hot here during the scorching summer days so you may want to wait for the evening to come by with your furry friend. Here is the Curtis Park event calendar.

Their Natomas location is just as fun to visit and I would say it’s a better location as it has more room inside and they have A/C and large fans to keep you and your pup cool during the summer. I also really like their mini golf course deal on Mondays($10 for a beer and a game), it’s perfect for keeping your friends kids busy while you finish your tacos and debate which IPA is the best. They also have trivia nights on Wednesdays and even live music. Here is the Natomas event calendar for more info.

Their drink selection is always rotating with delicious IPA’s and even hard seltzers if you want to keep it light.

What sets Track 7 Brewing Co. apart is its dedication to great beer and entertainment. I feel like there is always something going on at their breweries and it’s ever changing. I’ve seen them host live wresting matches, live music, a vendor marketplace and even charcuterie classes for mom. It’s also great to come by around Halloween as they have costume parties and you are guaranteed to find the most adorable dressed up doggos.

Dog-friendly events and activities at breweries

In addition to the exceptional dog friendly breweries there are a few other amazing activities and special events that you can be a part of

One such event is the popular “Yappy Hour” hosted by several breweries throughout the city. These special events invite dog owners to bring their furry friends and enjoy discounted beer, pet-friendly treats, and even doggie-themed activities like costume contests and agility courses. It’s the perfect opportunity to socialize with fellow dog lovers while sampling the latest craft beer creations. If you are interested I would suggest signing up for the SPCA newsletter through their website.

The Local Bark Park is a wonderful dog park that offer different activities for your pup to be a part of. They have a ton of toys, a little playground a really nice water park for them to enjoy in the summer. There is a bit of an onboarding process and a membership fee but it is so worth it if you live nearby! They also have a little bar and a seating area with misters so you can be comfortable and enjoy the company of fellow dog owners. You can also host doggie birthday parties and of course they offer boarding and daycare if you need.

If you are looking for something more low-key and affordable I highly recommend going to the river at Gristmill Recreation Area. When the river is flowing a little slower it’s a perfect place to enjoy with your pup. The beach is gradual and perfect for wading through. Just make sure to keep them from going in too far as the current can pick up quite a bit. Keep them in a life vest and a long leash to be safe. Also make sure to park in the parking lot and not near the water and have your parking pass visible so you don’t get a fine.

Wet Nose Wednesdays is great if you are a baseball fan. Dog get in for free on Wednesdays at the ballpark up on the Toyota Home Run Hill. They must be well behaved obviously and the park has some rules on what kind of chairs and bags you are allowed to bring but it is loads of fun and very cheap at 11 bucks per person.
