Ink Eats and Drinks is a wonderful establishment with an interesting tattoo theme throughout the restaurant. They serve American comfort food with a contemporary twist. This place is perfect for dinner and drinks or weekend brunches. They have a great atmosphere, friendly staff and reasonable prices.
We like to try and catch the happy hour for the deals or brunch for the bottomless mimosas. The mimosas taste fresh and are made on the spot which is a nice touch! I really hate it when restaurants use some cheap premix mimosas.
Pros: Great food, tasty drinks, friendly waiters, clean bathrooms.
Cons: There is only street parking, not quite walking distance to other bars and nightlife.
Must Try: Mac and cheese(with bacon) and sliders during happy hour.

Tres Hermanas is a really solid pick if you’re in need of Mexican food. They’re one of our first picks for downtown Mexican food. Service is usually great, and their food always hits the spot and satisfies any Mexican food craving.
Tres Hermanas has been around as long as I can remember and has continued to satisfy through the years. I like to bring my family here for dinner and drinks. We like to start off with some margaritas and enjoy some chips/salsa while our order gets ready. The vibe and the service is usually great but I do prefer to come on Wednesdays or Thursdays because less busy and we get quicker service compared to Saturday for example. But that’s understandable, especially because they are located downtown Sacramento and are quite popular.
Pros: Well done Mexican food, reasonable prices, large portions, low carb options available.
Cons: Can get very busy and it’s impossible to get on the phone with them during busy hours. If you want to place an order I suggest ordering online.
Must Try: Carnitas plate is to die for. Grab some salsa and tortillas and make yourself some delicious tacos.
The al pastor plate is also top-notch. The flavor and consistency is amazing and you can eat it in whatever way you prefer, just like the carnitas plate.

Fox and Goose is an English themed bar and restaurant that’s been around since 1975. The bar stocks a bunch of great beers, wines and liquors so you can get just about anything your heart desires. They make some tasty mixed drinks, have 15+ beers on draft and also offer about 10 different specialty mimosas. So you can bring your friends or date and be certain that they’ll find something they like. On the same thread; they also have vegetarian options and dishes without gluten.
Fox and Goose also has some bangers when it comes to their food. If you know what I mean.. Their Full English Breakfast is a classic and it will always have a place in my heart, but when I come here I usually make my own omelet or go for their Benedict Arnold. They offer 40+ ingredients to build your own omelet which can be a bit overwhelming but the options are worth going through. The omelets and their Benedict Arnold can also come with a side of potatoes, which I highly recommend getting. They make their potatoes grilled with onions and bell peppers and they are so-damn-good. They are perfectly cooked, have great flavor and have crispy bits throughout.
Lunch and dinner options are also delicious. My friends and I like their fish and chips. I love the way they prepare their potatoes, sliced at just the right thickness and fried just right.
The Cornish Pasty is a great second option for dinner time. The pastry itself is crispy and rich and baked just right and the filling is thick and hardy.
Pros: Lots of drink options, good food, great potatoes, lots of parking
Cons: Service can take a while if they are busy. Their hours of operation can be a bit inconvenient.
