3 Best Tennis Courts in Sacramento

Public tennis courts

We put together the 3 best tennis courts in Sacramento. This is only going to highlight the tennis courts in Sacramento county, we will put together a list for placer and el dorado county soon!

How we rank these best tennis courts in Sacramento are as follows: court and park maintenance, active community, cleanliness, and location.

These are ranked from first to last, just the best 5 we found in Sacramento.

  •  Mckinley Park.

McKinley tennis courts

First up we have McKinley park. This park in general is beautiful. A mid-town Sacramento park that comes with everything! They have has a large children playground, basketball courts, a beautiful pond, scenic garden to walk through, community pool, and volleyball courts.

The tennis courts at McKinley park include a north and south facing courts to help prevent direct sunlight getting in your eyes while playing. They also have a well maintained city staff to help keep this park and tennis court at their best. While playing here, there is a good amount of players here at any given time, while also not to be conceived as overly crowded. Nice court surfaces to help have good control of the ball and best of all this park is free! More information can be found here

McKinley tennis courts do not have a practice hitting wall for players. They do have restrooms but the city may have them closed during some times so its best to come prepared with some alternatives. More information can be found here.

  • Miller Park.

Miller park tennis courts

We have Miller Park here and for great reasons! This park is one of my favorites not only because of the beautiful tennis courts but because they have a multitude of activities throughout the park. They have a disk golf course, outdoor basketball court and a great picnic area for family BBQ’s.

They have 8 hard courts to play on. Each court’s playing surface is in good shape, there are very few if any cracks, none of which would effect a tennis match. This is a city park so the park itself is very well maintained with the city staff. Leagues as well as people are able to reserve tennis courts for around $10. This park does get crowded when the leagues and private lessons are being held but usually from 11am-3pm is when the courts have less traffic on them. These courts are also great for night time tennis use because they are all well lit.

Miller park has 2 practice wall areas that are separated for individuals to practice. Miller park also has a bathroom facility, water fountain, and plenty of parking either at the main park entrance or near the courts off the road.
